Shipping costs for nearly every livestock related product is included in the price unless specifically indicated otherwise. Special orders are excluded and the shipping cost will be determined before you make the purchase and based upon the overall weight and number of packages needed to fill such order. Canadian residents and abroad should contact me directly by phone or email so I may calculate the cost of International Flat Rate shipping.
Nearly every item we sell will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail which in most cases has a delivery time of 2 - 3 days. In addition, when we ship your order, you will receive a tracking number via email from the USPS (if you have provided us with a valid email address with your order). Using this service, we can ship your order quicker than using FedEx or UPS because of our location. If you are a PayPal member, you may also access package tracking status through your account.
In some instances, we will ship either UPS or FedEx at our discretion if pre-arranged prior to the payment for your order. Please know and understand that by using either of these two services requires an additional fee and service charge for handling and transportation.
For various reasons, I've had to implement the following turnaround time policy for orders. As a one man operation, I try and strive to process orders in the quickest time possible, generally within 24 to 48 hours, a number of factors may prevent me from doing so. Weather is perhaps foremost. Cold and wind are the enemy for getting orders processed and also affect delivery of items to me from my supplier. The next factor is the type and size of an order. Large flat rate postal boxes which can be the heaviest of all take up the most room, and while easier to pack, I can only ship so many within a day in all fairness to my postal carrier. Small flat rate boxes of 1 pound sizes, these are no problem. Medium rate boxes tend to take more time as there is usually a larger variety of products that may go in a box.
So in any instance, I may have orders ahead of your order, but as each day passes, every new batch of orders is processed. I don't get orders everyday, but there may be periods of time where I get several orders in a day over a period of several days. Feast or famine. There will be times when it may seem to take a bit usual than longer to receive your order, and you may contact me at any time, but there will also be times that your order will arrive within just a couple of days of ordering.
Thus my policy is, and is in accordance with PayPal, that a two week period is allowed as "shipping/processing" time for an order after which time a claim may be filed with PayPal regarding the transaction. If after 3 days of receiving your order, I find that I am going to be able to ship your order, I will contact you via email regarding the delay, and try and provide you with an estimated delivery date. It will also be my policy to try and compensate customers that might have to wait longer than usual for their order to arrive. In any case, I will do my best to try and provide you with the fastest and best service I possibly can. Thank you.
Jams, Jellies and Syrups
These products specifically will be shipped via USPS Regular Priority Mail or USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail and there are certain criteria that must be met with each order. Single jar orders will be shipped via Regular Priority Mail, Multiple jar orders will be shipped via Flat Rate Priority Mail. Because of the weight and fragile nature of these items, there is just no getting around this, and they ship much safer using these options.

- 1 - 16 ounce jar - Regular Priority Mail at $7.00
- 1 - 8 ounce jar - Regular Priority Mail at $6.00
- 2 to 4 - 16 ounce jars - Flat Rate Priority Mail at $11.00
- 5 to 9 - 16 ounce jars - Large Flat Rate Priority Mail at $14.95
- 2 to 6 - 8 ounce jars - Flat Rate Priority Mail at $11.00
- 7 to 12 - 8 ounce jars - Large Flat Rate Priority Mail at $14.95
Some big changes are just around the corner for package insurance: Currently, each packaged order that is shipped includes up to $50 full value insurance. An item that sells for $58.27 would only qualify for the "up to" $50 portion as full replacement value unless additional insurance was purchased. This can get kind of confusing so...
...upon the next postal rate increase of 2014, ALL packages/orders will automatically be insured for full replacement value.
If your order contains more than one fragile item such as jams, jellies or syrups, insurance is recommended but optional. For each Flat Rate Priority Mail box shipped, the average insurance cost is $2.00. Please know that we cannot be responsible for product damage on uninsured orders. If your order is insured, we will work with you to obtain a refund and product replacement if available at the time. All insured order matters will be handled via the USPS insurance guidelines.
Overnight, Next Day and Express Mail Orders
In some cases, you may want to order an item and request quicker than usual delivery. For these types of orders, we cannot offer free shipping and request that the customer pay the additional shipping costs to ensure timely delivery to meet their expectations. We will recalculate the base price of the item(s) and provide the customer with this cost plus the added shipping cost, and invoice the customer accordingly. Support, Inquiries, Order Reconciliation and More
We strive to please our customers. Each order is packed and handled with the utmost care. If you receive a defective product (not damaged during shipping), please let us know and we will do our best to correct the situation immediately. We also try to provide support in the manner of help, articles, tips or tricks, or resources and references to such help.
If you have placed an order and have not received a response within 24 - 48 hours, we ask that you call (719) 423-9511 or email. Also, if you have placed an order, received an initial response regarding your order, but have not received your shipment within a reasonable amount of time, please use the tracking number provided (if applicable) to inquire at the UPS, FEDEX or U.S.P.S. web site.
Since nearly all of our shipping is accomplished via the USPS, each time an order is shipped, the label is created through the USPS online shipping feature. Some rural addresses are not recognized in the USPS address system and in such cases, a P.O. Box is the actual customer address. From time to time I will receive an order in which the address is not recognized, and it requires that I contact the customer to get the correct mailing address (usually a P.O. box). Please understand that this situation can delay an order by a few days if not immediately handled.
Quite often as well, PayPal will list such an address as "confirmed". Please let me restate...a confirmed address does not always indicate that USPS will deliver to it whereas UPS or FedEx might. If a customer insists on having an order delivered via UPS or FedEx, additional charges may occur as many of the prices are based solely on USPS Flat Rate Priority Rates.
